In short

We collect what you send us and a little anonymous data about how the site is used. We use it to reply to you and to run our business. We don’t sell it, and we never share what you tell us about your company.

Who we are

One Three Nine (“we”, “us”) runs this website and is responsible for the personal information described here. We’re based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can reach us at hello@onethreenine.co.

What we collect

  • When you fill in the contact form: your name, work email, company, and what you’d like AI to change.

  • When you email us: whatever you choose to send.

  • When you become a client: the contact details of the people we work with, billing details, and the information you share for the engagement. That information is also covered by our engagement agreement and any NDA.

  • When you visit the site: basic, privacy-friendly analytics such as pages viewed, the referring site, approximate country and device type. These don’t identify you personally.

How we use it

  • To reply to your message and arrange a call.

  • To run engagements, send invoices and keep the records the law requires.

  • To send you an article or update if you’ve asked for one. You can stop these at any time.

  • To understand which pages are useful, so we can improve the site.

What you tell us about your company

Anything you share about your company, whether in the form, by email or on a call, is treated as confidential. Only the founders see it. We never name a client or use their information in a case study or article without written permission.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run our business, such as our email and calendar provider, our website host and form processor, and our accounting software. Each processes data on our behalf and under contract, and some may store it outside Canada. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies it needs to work, plus privacy-friendly analytics that don’t track you across other websites. It stores your light or dark theme choice in your browser so the site remembers it. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

We keep messages from people who don’t become clients for up to two years, then delete them. We keep client records for as long as tax and professional rules require, usually six years after an engagement ends.

Security

We use reputable providers, two-factor sign-in on every account, and encrypted storage for engagement files. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, withdraw your consent, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email hello@onethreenine.co and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is for business readers and isn’t directed at anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll say so on the site.
